P6 split into teams to race to get the exact equipment to make the faces printed on their “maps” and make sure that everything was positioned as it was on the print out.

Busy P6!

Primary 6 have had a great start back at school after a long time away! Everyone has been working really hard to make sure they understand and follow all the procedures for keeping us all safe while we're here. We also joined in celebrating the NHS by watching a Spitfire fly over each of the hospitals we can see from our classroom windows. Back to school means back to work! We have elected House Captains from Primary 7, and Vice-Captains from Primary 6. A huge well done to Nikita, Alyssa and Kayden T! Everyone who gave speeches did incredibly well and showed they can be really professional. At the moment, we're working on a Greek Mythology mini-topic. We've learned lots of fascinating things, and have been putting our learning to good use. Check out this scary bunch of Medusas!

Welcome back to class!

It has been delightful to have the children back at school again! Primary 6 returned, full of beans and ready to learn and the children ahve been working hard. So far they have worked on finding lines of symmetry in shapes and reflecting a shape or pattern over a line of symmetry; they have tried their hand at acting out a short script and working to write a short scene for a play-some buding actors are appearing! We went for a walk yesterday and collected some natural items and did some 5 minute drawings today to try and capture the texture if teh new found 'treasures'. Sometimes, the subject of the drawing was hidden from sight and they could only feel it, so they had to see how they could draw what they could touch!

Orienteering taster

P6 took to the grassy pitch and tried their hand at orienteering-a fun and active sport! They raced around the grassy pitch looking for the controls so they could find the answers for the activity. Puffed out and smiling by the time we stopped to tidy up, they worked well in pairs and rated it 10/10 for fun factor.
